Glass opening board-up enquiries

Board-up is a possible temporary response to an exposed glass opening while a permanent solution is arranged. It needs to suit the opening and its surroundings; an enquiry is not confirmation that a crew or materials are available.

Neatly secured unpainted plywood temporary protection over a storefront opening within its metal frame, no workers

Explain the opening and nearby access

Identify whether the missing glass is in a window, storefront or entrance assembly. Describe nearby public routes and who controls the property. The fixing surfaces and the condition of the frame influence what can be considered. Do not attempt to secure boards against unstable glass or improvise a repair while waiting for a response.

Keep the temporary and permanent plans connected

Temporary protection is not the same as a finished glazed opening and does not carry a blanket security or weatherproofing guarantee. Its suitability and limitations need to be agreed for the site. The later replacement may require different access, measurements or fabrication, so keep a record of the opening and the intended permanent scope.

Questions before
the next step.

Is board-up available at every location?

No coverage or attendance commitment is made here. Submit the location and condition details so availability and suitability can be confirmed.

Does a board-up enquiry also book the replacement glass?

No. Temporary protection and permanent replacement must each have an agreed scope and schedule. Neither is booked by submitting an enquiry.
