Decorative glass

Decorative glass can shape privacy, light and the visual character of an interior. A useful enquiry describes the effect you want and how the glass will be used, rather than choosing a finish by name alone.

Service suitability, location coverage and scheduling must be confirmed for your project.

Compare appearance in its actual setting

Texture, colour, patterns and obscured finishes can look different with changes in lighting and viewing distance. Explain whether the aim is screening a workspace, softening a room divider or adding a feature panel. Samples may be needed to confirm the visual choice; photographs do not reliably establish colour, translucency or the appearance from both sides.

Keep fabrication and use in view

Pattern direction, panel joints and edge details affect the finished layout. The finish also needs to be compatible with the required glass make-up and cleaning conditions. Availability of a specific texture, colour or treatment must be confirmed. Decoration does not by itself make glass suitable for a door, railing or other demanding application.

Questions before
the next step.

Will an obscured finish provide complete privacy in all lighting?

That should not be assumed. Backlighting, proximity and the chosen finish can change visibility; assess a suitable sample for the intended use.

Can a finish be matched to an existing panel?

A comparison is needed. Product availability, batch variation and lighting can affect the result, so an exact match is not promised.
